Princess Diana of Themyscira, daughter of Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons first appeared during WWII in 1941 serving undercover in order to further truth, justice and so forth. To become Diana Prince, she assumed the identity of an Army nurse. In later incarnations, she served as a military secretary, UN translator, and a museum curator. Tough on evil and diplomatic when necessary, she uses her amazing athletic abilities and lasso of truth and bullet proof bracelets to fight for humanity.

This is the original 1941 comic book costume design.
